Federal regulation requires all hospitals that receive payment from the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to survey their patients and report results to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. In the latest reporting period, patients ranked Sentara Albemarle Medical Center “Best Possible Hospital” more often than the national benchmark and more often than the national benchmark and more often than the average of hospitals in North Carolina. These scores are reported by the HCAHPS survey and represent the percentage of patients who rated Sentara Albemarle Medical Center as a 9 or 10 on a 10-point scale.

Also, Sentara Albemarle Medical Center has been recognized as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR). The hospital earned the ACR accreditation for offering the highest level of breast imaging quality and radiation safety.
