MORE THAN JUST A WEE BIT OF EDUCATION AND FUN FOR 
PARENTS-TO-BE AND NEW FAMILIES

Albemarle Health’s Albemarle Hospital invites parents-to-be and new families to join us for the first Albemarle Health Wee Ones Baby Fair, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, March 15, in Albemarle Hospital’s Education Center. This free, family-oriented event promises to bring more than just a wee bit of education and fun to parents-to-be and new families.

Expectant parents will receive information on childbirth at Albemarle Hospital, and topics such as breastfeeding, day-to-day baby care, and much more. New families will be given information about child immunizations, and how to deal with post-partum depression and where to find help. Everyone may take tours of our redecorated Women’s Center, and take advantage of car seat fittings from SafeKids and the Elizabeth City Fire Department.

We know new parents, and parents-to-be, have questions about what lies ahead. So, we’ve assembled a comprehensive group of medical professionals that will be available to address the concerns that go along with parenting, including representatives from Albemarle Hospital’s Women’s Center, Albemarle Mental Health, Albemarle Regional Health Services, Albemarle Smart Start Partnership, Coastal Pediatrics, Coastal Women’s Clinic, Northeastern OB/GYN, Women First OB/GYN, and March of Dimes.

In addition to the information medical professionals provide, we’re bringing some fun to the Wee Ones Baby Fair with baby games at 11 a.m. and noon, giveaways, a toy corner, and face painting. We’ve also asked Merle Norman Cosmetics, Page After Page Bookstore, Photography by Liza Franco, and Toys Etc. to provide fun activities and bring samples of their products.

Everyone likes door prizes – so we’re giving away a jogging stroller, courtesy of Wal-Mart; a Gymboree gift certificate; parent/child swim lessons at the Albemarle Family YMCA; and more. Plus, the first 100 attendees will receive a special goodie bag compliments of Albemarle Health.
