WHAT'S IN A NAME? PLENTY!
What’s in a name? When it’s Albemarle Health,
it’s a wide array of healthcare services, caring professionals,
and state-of-the-art technology, linked together from Gates
to Dare counties.
Although
we’ve always offered residents of northeastern North
Carolina high quality healthcare, provided by talented and
compassionate people, we created a new system-wide name
and logo which brings all of our services together under
one banner – Albemarle Health.
“We are proud of the care we provide at Albemarle
Health,” said Sharon M. Tanner, President and CEO
of Albemarle Health. “Our ongoing commitment to the
people of northeastern North Carolina includes maintaining
a staff dedicated to clinical quality and service excellence,
and providing our patients with the most up-to-date medical
equipment and technology. These changes identify all of
the facilities that are part of the Albemarle Health family.”
Why the change? Our Executive Team, with the Albemarle
Hospital Authority Board of Commissioners’ approval,
wanted to create an easily identifiable way to portray our
organization as the true regional healthcare resource it
is. We’re now visibly linked with services available
in Gates County at Gates Medical Center; in Pasquotank County
at Albemarle Hospital and Regional Oncology Center; and
in Dare County with Regional Medical Center, and Island
Medical Center.
While our new look includes a redesigned website, and a
new look on our stationery, and signage, Albemarle Hospital
and our Albemarle Health affiliates remain part of a not-for-profit,
regional community healthcare provider, governed by the
Albemarle Hospital Authority Board of Commissioners.
“The new system identity will not bring any changes
to the way we care for patients, or the services we provide,”
Tanner said. “The name Albemarle Health reflects what
we’ve grown to become. We’re more than just
Albemarle Hospital – we’re a regional healthcare
system that offers a variety of care and services, educational
opportunities, and community outreach to the residents of
our seven county service area. We’re proud of Albemarle
Health, and all it encompasses.”
