Albemarle Hospital's Role as a Training Center
The Albemarle Hospital AHA Training Center is housed within the hospital's EMS Education Department and offers various basic and advanced cardiac life support courses. The training center provides administrative support and general oversight and guidance for all AHA courses.

The Albemarle Hospital AHA Training Center also supports Chain of Survival activities within the community and seeks to work at a grass-roots level to accomplish the American Heart Association's Mission of reducing disability and death from cardiovascular disease and stroke. The strategic impact goal of the American Heart Association is to reduce coronary heart disease and stroke risk by 25% by 2010.

This training center is a part of the Emergency Cardiovascular Care Training Network and is one of about 3500 training centers across the United States. The training center employs one coordinator and one administrative assistant. All instructors affiliating with this training center represent volunteers for the American Heart Association and are a part of a nationwide network of over 260,000.
