Rehabilitation services are necessary when a person with a disability is in need of assistance beyond the person's personal capacities and resources to achieve his/her maximum potential.

The Rehabilitation Services department of Albemarle Hospital is staffed by a specially trained team of professionals dedicated to maximizing your level of independence and ability to carry out normal daily tasks. Whether you are treated on an inpatient oroutpatient basis, our goal is to help you improve movement, gain strength, increase independence, relieve pain, improve swallowing safety, and restore impaired communication skills.

We offer three disciplines: Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech/Language Pathology, as well as specialty programs such as Lymphedema Treatment and Aquatic Therapy. Following a referral from your physician, you will receive a complete evaluation by the appropriate licensed professional. A treatment program will then be designed to meet your individual needs. Whether you are recovering from an illness, injury, or surgery our rehabilitation professionals are dedicated to providing the best possible care.
